8:30-9:30AM & 4:00-5:00PM, Monday-Friday


Ken Sherwood is the electrical inspector. Ken issues permits for all electrical work. Ken also issues permits for all sheds, decks, pools, and signs and performs required inspections to ensure code compliance. Ken also may provide technical expertise relative to code requirements for the private and non-private sectors.

An Electrical permit is required for all new installations of electric and the replacement of any part of an existing electrical system.

Electrical installations are subject to compliance with all prescribed regulations under the Salem Building Code respecting electrical. No part of an installation is to be enclosed without inspection and approval of the Electrical Inspector. Twenty-four hours notice is required for inspection.
