Fire Department » Administration The mission of the Salem Fire Department is to provide the Town of Salem with fast, clean, friendly, professional fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency ambulance and disaster management control services, protecting and preserving life, property and the environment at a reasonable cost. The Salem Fire Department is a full-time, full-service municipal Fire Department protecting the Town of Salem 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have 4 duty shifts (2 at 13 members and 2 at 15 members) and we operate out of 3 fire stations located throughout the community. The Salem Fire Department is committed to providing professional, top-notch fire and EMS services to our residents and visitors. The Salem Fire Department is commanded by the Chief of Department Kevin J. Breen, Chief, Assistanty Chief Paul J. Parisi, Deputy Chief Michael P. Wallace and Fire Marshal Jeffrey S. Emanuelson. The duty shift is run by a shift commander (rank of Captain) operating out of a command vehicle. They supervise a duty group of 12-14 other members consisting of 3 Lieutenants, 7-9 Firefighters and 2 Firefighter/Paramedics.
