Police Department » Operations Support » Records The Records Unit handles all of the department records and reports. The Unit is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. They can be contacted at (603) 890-2330. The most common request from the public is to obtain a copy of a police accident report. Officers submit their reports to the Records Unit upon the completion of the accident investigation. Most are available within a few days but some more complex investigations require more investigation. It's always best to call the Records Unit with your case number and ask if it is available. Release of other records and reports is subject to NH RSA Chapter 91-A: Access to Public Records and Meetings. The NH Attorney General's Office in 2003 issued a memorandum on NH's Right-to-Know law and it can be found on their web site at http://doj.nh.gov/publications/right_to_know.html. This memorandum outlines when a police department can release information. Victims of domestic abuse can obtain a copy of the police report at no cost pursuant to NH RSA Section 173-B:10 Protection by Peace Officers.
