WATCH A GOOD PROGRAM DIE
Nothing kills a recreation program faster than residents who wait to register. There is a point where a program must be
cancelled or modified if there is insufficient registration.
All programs require a high level of coordination often including facility scheduling, staffing, volunteering and purchasing
of supplies.
PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE THE DEADLINE!
Download the Recreation Registration Form.
Registration Information
- Individuals enrolling in the Recreation programs are required to pay the registration fee at the time of enrollment.
- Registrations are held four (4) times a year (winter, spring, summer and fall). Residents register at the time
specified and non-residents register the following week. Starting dates and locations are subject to change and
should be verified at the time of registration. Fees listed are those charged to Salem residents. Non-residents
are welcome to register if sufficient room exists after the first week of registration. However, non-residents
will be charged an additional fee of $5.00 over the cost of the program (unless otherwise stated). Please be aware
that some programs listed are for Salem residents only.
- Individuals may register by mail with this form or at the Recreation Department’s office located at the Town Hall on
33 Geremonty Drive. NO TELEPHONE REGISTRATIONS. Please note that mail registrations do not guarantee a spot in the
program requested. Remember, registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
- REFUNDS FOR FEE PROGRAMS will NOT be given before the SECOND CLASS MEETING! Partial refunds will be given only when
the Recreation office is notified PRIOR to the SECOND CLASS meeting. Refunds are not given for tickets purchase for
bus trips unless there is a waiting list. (An Administration fee is deducted from the registration fee).
- The Recreation Department establishes a minimum and a maximum number of registrants to be accepted for each class.
Register early to guarantee a place in the program.
- The Town of Salem Recreation Department programs are open to all residents regardless of race, age physical and/or
mental disabilities. Any resident having special needs or accessibility problems regarding our programs, please
contact the Salem Recreation Department prior to registration.
